2005 Career
and Technical Education Congratulations to Leigh Anne Parks the 2004-05 CTE Rookie Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Parks is a 1st year teacher(career switcher) who teaches Business Computers and Communications, Computer Information Systems, and Design, Multimedia, Web Technologies She involves her classes with community to gain real-world exposure.For example: Design, Multimedia, Web Technologies class has designed business cards and brochures for Java 149 (new coffee shop across from the Mills Godwin Courthouse) and CIS classes complete a stock market project gaining knowledge about local and global economy, market trends, and investing basics using Excel spreadsheets. Many local businesses such as Wal-Mart, Kelly’s Tavern, Applebees, and other business donated prizes for this project. |
