LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENT

The goal of the LImited English Proficient (LES) Program is to teach English to limited English speaking students so that they may acquire the language and communication skills necessary to participate successfully in the mainstream kindergarten through twelfth grade classroom. Students are assessed with a Proficiency Tests to determine eligibility. Students are eligible for services if found to perform in the Non-English (NES) or Limited English Speaking (LES) area. Suffolk Public Schools offers a tutorial approach for services.
