ONGOING SOL ASSESMENTS

Ongoing SOL Assessments are designed to measure students’ achievements throughout the year. Students in grades K-5 take ongoing local assessments in English and Math. The assessments are administered each nine weeks in correlation with the Pacing Guides and teacher discretion. A score of 80% is required for mastery of each SOL. Students must master 80% of the SOL Assessments in order to be promoted to the next grade. If mastery is not achieved on the first assessment a teacher will re-teach the SOL and will reassess the student two additional times in order to achieve mastery. Assessment scores and the date on which they were tested must be entered into SOLO as well as in Grade Quick. SOLO reports are sent home with each report card.
