The middle school educational experience seeks to provide for the intellectual, physical, emotional, social and cultural needs of students in grades 6-8. Allowing for a smooth transition from childhood to adolescence and from middle to high school is a priority. Suffolk Public Schools has four middle schools: Forest Glen, John F. Kennedy, John Yeates, and King’s Fork. Middle schools begin classes at 7:45 am and end at 2:15 pm. The schools operate on an alternate day schedule, link here for the schedule. INTRAMURAL SPORTS PROGRAM FOR GRADES SEVEN AND EIGHT The middle school intramural program is facilitated through the principal and physical education department. All students are eligable for team selection. The physical education teachers and coaches choose school teams based on good sportsmanship, fairness, skills, academics, and discipline. These teams compete against other teams from each of the middle schools in Suffolk.
