Four Employees Honored for Helping Children with Disabilities

Congratulations to four Suffolk Public Schools employees being honored by the Pilot Club of Suffolk.  The organization recognizes several groups and individuals for their contributions to the community.

  • Anna Zander, a special education teacher at Booker T. Washington Elementary School, has been named the club’s 2017 Outstanding Teacher of Children with Disabilities.
  • Suzanne Cardwell, a special education paraprofessional at Nansemond Parkway Elementary School, was selected as the 2017 Outstanding Teacher Assistant of Children with Disabilities.
  • Christine Bradshaw, who transports special needs children at Mack Benn, Jr. Elementary School, has been named the 2017 Outstanding Bus Driver of Children with Disabilities.
  • Faith Holliman, a bus aide for students at John Yeates Middle School, has been named the 2017 Outstanding Bus Aide of Children with Disabilities.

The Pilot Club will host a reception for these honorees as well as other community leaders being recognized, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 20 at the YMCA Camp Arrowhead.  If you would like to attend, please email Suzanne Langston at
