Brandon Eley Honored as National Beta Leadership Ambassador

Brandon Eley

Nansemond River High School senior Brandon Eley has been named as a 2017-18 Leadership Ambassador, one of only 10 Ambassadors selected from among 96 youth selected to attend the National Beta’s Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.  These honored Beta members from across the nation gathered for leadership training in late July.

This elite recognition is reserved for honorees who best demonstrate leadership through effective team work, inspiration to fellow peers, a courageous attitude, and honest character.

As Leadership Ambassador, Eley will represent National Beta at various sponsored events, promote Beta as part of organizational growth initiatives and advocate for leadership opportunities in his community. His first role will involve presenting to sponsors and educators who oversee activities during National Beta’s Infuse2.0 Educator Conference this September in Atlanta.

Eley, a senior at Nansemond River High School, is part of the division’s competitive Project Lead the Way four-year engineering specialty program.  He is drum major with the Nansemond River Marching Band and was elected Beta Virginia vice president. Eley plans to attend the University of Virginia to study engineering and also perform in the marching band.
