King’s Fork Middle School opened its doors to students in September 2001. This state-of-the-art facility includes a distance learning laboratory, Media Center with a technology laboratory, and a full-sized gymnasium designed for after school community use. All classrooms are linked to the Media Center via telephone and television monitors. Each room has its own computer and large screen monitor to allow the entire classroom of students to participate in computerized lessons.

KING’S FORK MIDDLE SCHOOL TRUANCY POLICY
Effective October 1, 2008

• Parents will be called when a student is absent from school.
• Five unexcused absences will result in a letter home to parents and a parent conference will be scheduled to develop an Attendance Improvement Plan.
• All excuses for absences are due in the school office no more than five school days following the student’s return to school. 
• If no excuse is received within five school days, the absence will remain unexcused.
• Three unexcused tardies to school will result in one or more days of ISS.
