Last week we had our 5th Grade Virginia SOL Writing Test!  This is the first official SOL test each year because it takes the state longer to grade.  The students wrote a story to a given "prompt," and at least two test scorers on the state level will read it.  The students also took a multiple choice test on English writing skills.  They have all seemed to try very hard on the tests.  We won't know the results until summer.

            Like many of you, I am looking forward to our upcoming Spring Break at the end of the month.  I plan to catch up on some "dreaded" house and yard work!  What plans do you have?  When we return on March 31, the teachers will be going full speed ahead to finish up the tested SOL objectives and then start the review.  Please take a few minutes ech night to study with your child.  It will pay off!
