Bank of America Student Leaders Program – Selected students participate in paid summer internships with a designated local community organization to experience first hand how they can shape their communities, now, and in the future. Open to current juniors and seniors. Visit:

College of William and Marry Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in Early American History
Open to high school junior and seniors. Study of American History From Jamestown through the American Revolution or From the American Revolution through the Civil War. Two 3 week session are offered. College credit is awarded. Fee for tuition and room and board. Scholarship opportunities.

Georgetown University Summer College for High School Juniors - Offers a college preparation program, and international relations program and a summer college for current high school students.

Jefferson Lab – High School Summer Honors Program – Offers an on-site program in physics, science and computer systems at the Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA from June 18 through August 3. Applicants must be 16 years old and a minimum 3.3 GPA or higher. Visit http://education.jlab.org/hsapplication/index.php for applications and additional information.

Junior Statesman Summer School – Open to current 9th, 10th and 11th grade students with a passion for politics and current events. Located on campuses of Georgetown, Princeton, Yale, and Stanford Students can receive credit for their studies in Government/Politics and Speech/Communication. Fee for tuition and room and board. Lebannon Valley College – Daniel Fox Youth Scholars Institute – One week long studies in 15 topics on a college campus. Scholarships cover all tuition cost. Fees for room and Board. Visit www.lvc.edu/youth-scholars for more information. Nomination form required from the high school.

Saint Thomas More School Summer Academic Camp – Oakdale, CN. Summer learning opportunities for boys in grades 7 – 12. Five weeks (July 1 – August 3, 2007). Tuition an fees required. Information available in Guidance.

Smith Summer Science and Engineering Program – Summer program at Smith College in Massachusetts for high school females in grades 9 – 12 with an interest in science and engineering. For application and information visit www.smith.edu/summerprograms/ssep/ . Fee required for tuition, room and board.

University of Virginia Summer Enrichment Program – two week gifted program. Open to 9th – 11th grade students. Students enroll in one of seven classes. Tuition and room & board required. Additional information available in Guidance or at http://curry.edschool.virginia.edu/sep .

Virginia Tech Center for Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) C-Tech2 Program-
Open to current sophomores and juniors. Open to female students with an interest in engineering, math and science. Information available on the web at http://www.eng.vt.edu/academics/ctech2 .

Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps – Summer experience for youth ages 14 – 17. Students work in groups of 10 – 12, under adult supervision, to beautify state parks. Visit: http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/parks/ycc.htm . Information and applications available in Guidance.

Washington Internship Experience - Open to motivated students interested in government and politics. Program includes a three or six week internship on or near Capital Hill in Washington, D. C.
