Thanks to the wonderful Southwestern Elementary volunteers for helping make our Scholastic Book Fair a success. Thanks also to all the Southwestern school family who bought items. We received $100.00 in books for the classrooms and $1134.00 in cash profit. This money will be used to support  our instructional program.

Our first Family Reading Night will be December 2, 2008 from 6:00 to 7:00 before PTA.  Please bring your child to the library and read AR books with them. They can then take quizzes. Some first graders have started AR, and all students in grades 2-5 are involved with AR. This is a good opportunity for you to see how AR works. It may also give you ideas of how you can help your child be successful in this program.
In the library in December classes will support SOL objectives in the being studied in the classrooms.
