• Message from Oakland Principal, Ms. Myrick

    As principal of Oakland Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website. Oakland Elementary is a Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade school serving the Chuckatuck community in Suffolk, Virginia. Oakland Elementary School is a warm and friendly school dedicated to teaching and learning with strong community support that focuses on encouraging quality, equality, dignity and respect.

    Our mission at Oakland Elementary School, is to provide an educational program that targets success for every student, every day. Our vision is for all Oakland Elementary students to transition to middle school, high school and beyond being self-motivated, lifelong learners who are contributing members of our global society.

    Oakland’s staff members are dedicated to academic excellence and holding each student to high expectations to ensure they are successful learners. We are committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment for our students and staff each day.

    Again, I would like to welcome you to Oakland Elementary School. I look forward to working with you in the future and celebrating the achievements of Oakland’s students. Together we can provide the best possible educational experience for all of our students.
