Fall Learning Plan

Letter from the Superintendent:
Educate and Innovate - Fall Learning Plan

This plan will be in place from September 8 - November 2, 2020

(The first-nine weeks)

Suffolk Public Schools will begin the 2020-2021 school year with virtual learning. Our Special Education students who are in specialized programs will be allowed to attend face-to-face instruction for two days a week, with a phased-in approach that will be dependent upon safety and student individualized education plan decisions.

Instructional staff will be in our buildings two days a week - Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays will also be face-to-face instructional days for our special education students in specialized programs.

Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays will be optional days that instructional staff will be present in our schools, however all instructional staff will be expected to telework on any days they are not physically present.

On Fridays, instructional staff will have the option of teleworking as SPS will use this day for instructional support for our students, office hours for parental communication, and professional learning to improve the virtual learning experience.
