Resource Access Centers
Suffolk Public Schools (SPS) has designated three schools as Resource Access Centers (RAC) in an effort to address the technological access and equity issues some of our students face. The RAC locations have been selected in areas where there are limited technological connections due to the lack of cellular towers and/or lines. SPS students who cannot use a hotspot (Kajeet) in their home area will be allowed to visit a RAC to access and complete school work. Wireless Access Points (outdoor internet access) are also available in select locations.

Pioneer Elementary School - Cafeteria
Elephant’s Fork Elementary School - Parent Resource Center in Learning Cottage (modular)
Oakland Elementary School - Cafeteria

RAC Operating Hours:
Monday - Thursday
8:30 AM -11:30 AM
4 PM - 6 PM
Services:
Students must bring their fully charged SPSConnect device (Chromebook) to the RAC.
Students can download assignments, submit and complete assignments, communicate with teachers.
Registration Process:
Students must register for a timeslot to attend. One registration per student is required.

Time slots are available for 1.5 hours in the AM and 1 hour in the PM.
Students must sign in and out of the RAC.

Access:
Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or high school age SPS sibling. Parent/Guardian/Sibling must remain with student for the duration of the visit.
Transportation
SPS will not provide transportation to or from the Resource Access Center.
