Summary: The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) is a service organization that seeks to help women improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities. Educator and national leader, Mary McLeod Bethune, founded NCNW in 1935. In keeping with Mrs. Bethune’s legacy of “Leave No One Behind,” the Tidewater Section of NCNW will offer one NEED_BASED educational award in the amount of $500 to an African American female planning to attend a COMMUNITY COLLEGE. The recipient will be honored after selected and the financial award will be mailed to the recipient in the fall upon presentation of proof of college enrollment.
