School Resource Officers
A School Resource Officer is defined in the Code of Virginia, as a certified law enforcement officer hired by the local law enforcement agency to provide law enforcement and security services to Virginia public elementary and secondary schools. Suffolk Public Schools SRO's are valuable in helping to build positive relationships with our students to create a culture of safety in our schools.
School Resource Officers are essential, not just for their presence in the building, but for the relationships they build with students and staff, the proactive role they play in school safety, and the trust they help foster within the school community.Dr. Rodney BrownChief of Administrative Services
