Human Resources

Suffolk Public Schools believes that education is an ever-changing process. We are devoted to instilling the value of lifelong learning, to produce responsible citizens and to graduate quality workers.

The Human Resources Department strives to recruit, hire and retain highly qualified instructional and support staff that will ensure our students reach their potential. The department provides all employees with quality services to include professional development, staff recognition, counseling, and assistance with securing and maintaining professional licensure.

Information for Potential Employees and Current Staff:

  • Interested in Being a Substitute?
Substitutes are needed in almost all positions — teachers, teachers' assistants, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus aides and bus drivers. Additional details can be found here: Substitute Information.

  • Start Your Teaching Career with iTeach
iTeach is an alternative path to teacher licensure designed for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a field outside of education and are interested in becoming certified teachers. SPS is offering a scholarship opportunity for SPS employees to help cover iTeach tuition costs. Terms and conditions apply.   Click the link to learn more:
