Surplus Auctions

A surplus auction for a school division is a public sale of district-owned items that are no longer needed for school operations.

When equipment, furniture, vehicles, technology, or other assets become outdated, replaced, or excess to the division’s needs, the school division declares them surplus property. These items are then sold—often through an online auction platform or a public in-person auction—to recover value and ensure responsible use of public resources.
