Transitional Grade-Level Support

Suffolk Public Schools provides resources to help parents understand how to support their children at each transitional grade level. Transitional grade levels are PK-K, 2nd-3rd, 5th-6th, 8th-9th, and Year 13). Our school division will provide pre-grade transition expectations and preparation, during grade expectations and preparation and support for significant events during that grade. For example, SOL testing in 3rd grade and what that means for your student, scholarship interests and application timelines, and middle school structure). We will also provide parents with resources to monitor student progress and communicate with teachers.
