Suffolk Public Schools Covid Protocols
Posted on 05/17/2021

Governor Ralph Northern Executive Orders 72 and 79 have eased school division restrictions. Suffolk Public Schools requires all students, teachers, staff, and visitors must wear a mask over their nose and mouth while on school property.  Students participating in outdoor recreational activities (recess and outdoor physical education) may remove their masks. Students will be required to re-apply their masks when returning indoors.

During this year’s outdoor graduation ceremonies, graduating students will now receive four (4) tickets for guests.  Suffolk Public Schools will ensure seating will be marked for physical distancing to the greatest extent possible, and fully vaccinated individuals do not have to wear a mask.  Every attendant will be required to show their tickets when entering the parking lot and entering the graduation facility.  Anyone without a ticket will not be allowed inside the facility.

It is critical that every Virginian get vaccinated, and if unvaccinated, take precautions: avoid gatherings with anyone outside your household, practice hand sanitation, maintain proper physical distance from others, stay home when possible, and wear masks while indoors and in public.

The Governor’s Executive Order 72 became effective midnight May 15, and Executive Order 79 will become effective May 28 at midnight.
