    32nd Annual CTE Career Expo

    The Career and Technical Education Advisory Council hosted the 32nd annual CTE Career Expo. The event invited all SPS high school seniors who have completed a Career and Technical Education course during their high school tenure to engage in simulated and real career-related interviews aimed at potential hiring opportunities. Students presented their resumes to selected business representatives, allowing them to connect with employers seeking individuals with their skill sets, while fostering their confidence for future job interviews. Representatives from various businesses in Suffolk and the surrounding Hampton Roads area facilitated the interview sessions.

They created their own menus and advertisements then sold their items to fellow students and staff at CCAP. The event was a great success! Raffle prizes were donated by Suffolk Events and Entertainment, INC.

    Solarbration Ceremony With Dominion Energy

    The foundation of King’s Fork High School is high standards and expectations for each student in regard to academic performance, co-curricular participation and responsible citizenship. King’s Fork High School houses Suffolk Public Schools’ specialty program, International Baccalaureate Program, which aims to enrich students' educational experiences and challenge them to apply what they've learned. In 2022, KFHS was selected to receive the Dominion Project Solar Grant student program. This is exciting as they were one of 10 schools chosen in Virginia and North Carolina. The solar panels have been installed on site.

    Little Feet Meet 2024

    Sponsored by the Special Olympics Virginia, Little Feet Meet events are held in school divisions across the state as a way for schools to engage students with and without intellectual disabilities. The Little Feet Meet specifically, is a culmination of Special Olympics’ partnership with local schools to build inclusive communities and a level playing field for athletes of all abilities. We want every student at every school to know that we celebrate all abilities and we believe in this inclusive community that Special Olympics is helping to build.
