Virginia Quality Birth to Five (VQB5) For Families

Suffolk Public Schools Early Start Pre-K and Early Childhood Special Education participates in the Virginia Quality Birth to Five Initiative (VQB5). In response to state law, the Unified Virginia Quality Birth to Five System, VQB5, was developed to measure and help improve the quality of all publicly-funded preschool classrooms and support families to choose quality programming.

VQB5 measures the quality of preschool teaching and learning based on teacher-child interactions and curriculum usage. Child-level information gathered in classroom lists helps Virginia improve experiences for all infants, toddlers, and preschoolers across the state.
