We are excited to announce the return of our divisionwide literacy initiative, All Suffolk Reads, in partnership with All District Reads. This year’s featured book is “Friendship According to Humphrey” by Betty G. Birney — a heartwarming tale that celebrates friendship, kindness, and the joy of learning together.

Beginning October 20, 2025, every PreK–5th grade student across Suffolk Public Schools received their very own copy of Friendship According to Humphrey along with a Family Reading Guide. The program runs through November 10, 2025, encouraging families to read along together at home and engage in daily discussions and reflections based on the guide.

At school, students will participate in a variety of book-related activities, including chapter trivia questions, classroom conversations, and creative learning opportunities designed to make reading fun and interactive.

We invite all families to join in the fun and follow along with the reading schedule. Together, the division will celebrate the power of stories — one chapter at a time — through Friendship According to Humphrey.
