Suffolk Public Schools Shows Increases in Standards of Learning Results
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released Standards of Learning (SOL) pass rates on August 27, 2025. The overall pass rates for Suffolk Public Schools increased in English: Writing, Mathematics, and Science compared to the 2023-2024 data. Pass rates in English: Reading and History/Social Sciences remained flat compared to last year’s data. Additionally, Suffolk Public Schools performed at the state average in both English: Writing (75.68% to 76.79%) and Mathematics (72.51% to 73.24%).
“I want to take the time to celebrate and thank all of our students, teachers, and instructional staff for following our instructional model with fidelity and working so hard last year. "I am extremely proud of our instructional gains, and our growth in student achievement will continue,” said Division Superintendent Dr. John B. Gordon III.
Suffolk Public Schools will continue to provide targeted support, additional resources, and hands-on learning instruction to create dynamic learning environments for ALL students.
