School Board to Send Final Budget to City after March 25
     The School Board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, March 25 to continue its discussion of the proposed 2010-11 budget.  The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers, located on the second floor of the Municipal Building at 441 Market St.  The board is expected to vote on a budget to send to City Council for local funding.
     
Submit comments & suggestions to budget@spsk12.net … which will be shared with the Superintendent and the School Board.

NEW School Delay Opening Policy
1 & 2 hours delay policy for 2009-10.




Annual screening for the enrichment and gifted education for grades 2-8 is now in progress. Parents who wish to refer their rising second through eighth grade child for screening may obtain a referral form from their child’s school.  Call your child’s guidance counselor or principal for more information.


Kindergarten Registration for 2010

Suffolk citizens may register their children for the 2010-2011 kindergarten school year on either Wednesday, March 17 or May 19. Parents are invited to visit the schools between 8 am to 5 pm. For a complete list of documents to bring to the registration link here.

New Program For High School Students
"Project Lead the Way – Pathway to Engineering"" is a new program of five challenging courses in grades 9-12 that use project-based, hands-on experience to teach students the key elements and skills of engineering and technology-based careers by immersing them in rigorous engineering problems.  Link here for more information, a brochure and an application for the 2010-11 program.
