Creekside Elementary School students raised $1,200 for the March of Dimes, and celebrated with their own school-level March for Babies. To celebrate Youth Art Month, art students from all 19 schools shared their enthusiasm, their creativity, and their talents at the first annual Youth Art Month Festival. Fifth-graders from Mack Benn, Jr. Elementaryrecently traveled to King's Fork High to complete a science lab project with International Baccalaureate (IB) biology students. In recognition of Agricultural Literacy Month, the local Women's Farm Bureau donated the book What's in the Garden? to Hillpoint Elementary School. Congratulations to the Odyssey of the Mind team from Northern Shores School who placed third in their division at the regional Odyssey of the Mind competition. Congratulations to the Odyssey of the Mind team from John Yeates Middle School who placed second in their division at the regional Odyssey of the Mind competition. School Board member Phyllis Byrum works with an Oakland Elementary student to create an Egyptian scarab necklace, at the recent State of the Schools Learning Fair.
