Mr. Burket is leading the Data Science movement at the VDOE level - and Gus Rieken was invited as a student representative to this statewide conference to present his work to educators across the state. Over 100 people signed up to participate, the biggest ever, for two jam-packed days of presentations and guest speakers.  During the student session, the attendees could walk around and have former DS students explain their presentations or ask any questions to the students.  Gus, a 2024 graduate of LHS, certainly made all of us proud.   He was the star of the show and entertained and impressed crowds for a straight hour.  Then he was a big part of a student and teacher panel that addressed questions from new DS teachers.  He represented himself, Lakeland, and SPS well, as well as provided good insight and advice to future teachers.
