  • CFCMS' PAC History 

     

    Colonel Fred Cherry Middle School’s Parent Advisory Committee was developed by the building principal in the 2021-2022 school year in response to a community survey in which stakeholders felt there was not enough information being shared and opportunities for parents to engage with the school.

     

    CFCMS' PAC Guidelines

     

    1. The building principal reserves the right to remove member(s) from the parent advisory committee for the following reasons:

      1. Cruel treatment of students

      2. Favoritism of child

      3. Disrespect of school rules, protocols, teachers and staff

      4. Promotion of personal agendas

      5. Cruel treatment of parent advisory members: intimidation, lewd behavior

      6. Harsh speech against Suffolk Public Schools

      7. Theft of school supplies

     

    1. Members of the Parent Advisory Committee will promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and in the community. 

    2. Members of the Parent Advisory Committee will serve as a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.

    3. Members of the Parent Advisory Committee will work to bring into closer relation the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

    4. Members of the Parent Advisory Committee will work to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

    5. Members of the Parent Advisory Committee will attend meetings in-person unless specified otherwise by the building principal.

    6. Members of the Parent Advisory Committee will serve no longer than 2 years to allot for additional parents to engage the committee.
