Ms. Amura Cameron

Hello! My name is Amura Cameron, and I am honored to serve as Assistant Principal at King’s Fork High School, where I support the Special Education and Science departments. I’ve been in education for 17 years, beginning as a teacher's assistant at an alternative school before moving into roles such as special education teacher, special education supervisor, and dean of students.

I am a proud native of Durham, North Carolina, and a “Triple Eagle” graduate of North Carolina Central University (NCCU), where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s in Psychology, and a master’s in School Administration. I am currently working toward my doctorate in Educational Leadership at Old Dominion University.

Outside of school, I enjoy being a mom to my two wonderful daughters, writing, baking, traveling, and serving as president of the NCCU Alumni Association Hampton Roads Chapter. I am passionate about building strong relationships with students, families, and the community. My goal is to serve as a change agent and create opportunities that help all students feel valued, supported, and successful.

I look forward to partnering with you this school year!
