    The 2023-2024 Division-wide Family Engagement virtual events with the Virginia Living Museum will be a great opportunity for students to experience a variety of reptiles, mammals, birds, and fish.

     

    The Virginia Living Museum is home to more than 250 animal species in Virginia. Upcoming virtual events will be advertised through a division flyer, including registration information for each event. Please see the following topics and dates of the upcoming events :

     

    Virginia Ecosystems is a virtual look through Virginia’s coastal plain and Piedmont regions. Students will look at different types of wildlife that live in those specific areas and talk about the adaptations they use to survive in their unique environment.

    Backyard Conservation focuses on why the animals in our backyard are so important. Students will observe some of the Virginia Living Museum’s ambassador animals with staff discussing how they came to live at the Virginia Living Museum. They will also discuss their species’ critical role in the ecosystem and how students can help protect their wild counterparts.
