Requests for out-of-zone placement should be completed using the Out of Zone/Special Request Application below and returned to the Chief of Administrative Services.

Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are now being accepted.

• Any request submitted after April 30^th may not receive a decision until after school begins in September.

• NOTE: These documents must be notarized by a Notary Public outside the school division before being hand-delivered or mailed to the school division for consideration. All notarized applications must be completed with all required documents attached before mailing to Suffolk Public Schools, Attn: Student Services Dept., 100 N. Main Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434.

Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be available beginning March 1, 2025: 2024-2025 - Out of Zone Application

NOTE: Notwithstanding those exceptions set forth herein, the School Board reserves the right to deny a request for out of zone school attendance when the granting of such a request would result in school overcrowding. All such requests upon the recommendation of the superintendent or his designee shall be reviewed by the Board’s Student Services Review Committee which will make appropriate recommendations to the School Board. Whenever the School Board approves an out of zone request, the approval is only for the school year in which it was approved.
