    The Suffolk Public Schools (SPS) Department of Testing and Research provides various stakeholders with valid, reliable, and timely data to enhance the quality of education offered to students.The mission of the Department of Testing and Research is to:

    • Carry out the administrative and logistical functions necessary to implement the standardized testing program

    • Compile and analyze standardized testing results for use by individual schools, the division, and the Suffolk community

    • Evaluate programs and services to improve the quality and effectiveness of instruction and assistance offered to students, parents and staff

    • Develop, administer and analyze surveys for data analysis and statistics

    • Assist with the division plan for implementing continuous improvement and processes 

    • Administer the Virginia Assessment Program according to the Every Student Succeeds Act, as well as to extant state and local accountability systems
