Elementary Parent Overview Guides

  • Suffolk Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of Elementary Parent Overview Guides—a new resource designed to strengthen the home-to-school connection and give families the tools they need to support learning at home.

These guides, available for every elementary grade level, provide parents and guardians with a clear snapshot of what students will be learning each nine weeks. From reading and math to science and social studies, the guides highlight key topics and skills, so families can stay informed and engaged in their child’s learning journey.

Our goal is to empower families with information. When parents know what their children are studying in class, they’re better able to support, encourage, and reinforce those skills at home.

    Why It Matters

    • Clarity: Families can easily see what’s being taught each quarter.

    • Support at Home: Parents gain ideas and confidence to help with homework and discussions.

    • Partnership: Teachers and families share the same roadmap for student success.

The Elementary Parent Overview Guides are now available online through the Suffolk Public Schools website and will continue to be updated each quarter.

Together, with families as partners, SPS is committed to ensuring every child has the support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
